Hey Zeliha, this is john . Look, I usually don't respond to this type of message but I feel like as a system fan you deserve an explanation. First , you may or may not know I was born in Lebanon , my parents were born there as well. The reason we were born there is directly attributable to the genocide of the Armenians in 1915. These were my people, and these are not stories we created to bother Turks that we've then continued to discuss for nearly 100 years
Because it's so much fun to do so.my great grandfather was shot in front of his family , my surviving family members that escaped fled to Lebanon where I was born. I have dozens of similar stories of rape , murder , and brutality that have been handed down to me by genocide survivors such as my grandfather.
You have been taught by birth that it was a war, that perhaps we were at fault , that maybe even we are just living a huge lie made to discredit Turks but think about this and do some research and find the truth that works best for you. There is massive amounts of evidence available if you want to know more about it, as well as the first genocide of Armenians in the late 1800s. Armenian association with communist Russia and 50 or so years of the Cold War have kept the issue of the genocide down, that and Turkey's political importance to The United States and advantageous position in the Middle East have served to bury the issue of the Armenian genocide for nearly a century but that can't continue forever.
Please understand that with my last breath I will peacefully do everything in my power to educate people on the genocide and will always preach forgiveness and love to even the most patriotic Turk , because you can love your homeland and country and still be aware of the mistakes made in the past , in fact as a human being that is your responsibility in the hopes of preventing the same mistakes in the future.
Thank you for writing us and for being a fan of our band. I hope one day to play in Turkey for our many fans there after the recognition of the genocide , and I hope for peace between our people and the world in general . As much of a dream as that may be if enough people wanted worldwide peace we would have it, ultimately we are all citizens of the same planet and the borders we create are imaginary lines and truly mean nothing.
